The moral of your story Bob is that the life of every single one of us is defined by our relationship with risk. I’d venture that most people don’t view it that way. They should read Nassim Taleb. And Sartre - so they’d know that their failure to appreciate and act upon their innate freedom by taking some risks is behaving in bad faith. And they' should you. BTW - it brought a yuge smile to my face that you could quote Morgan Housel AND Alfred E. Newman - meaningfully - within the flow of your argument. Not easy to do!

Just imagine what Sartre would think of an Indexed Life?! It’s as far from Existentialism as ya can get.

Bob, I look forward to your writings like a kid waiting for Christmas!! I don’t share your religious views, but coming from that world, I understand them. Following you for many years has been an inspiration for me, to be better.

I think, at the crux of it, we are defined almost equally, by personality and by our upbringing and circumstance. And as a result, we interpret the world through those eyes. I first embraced, then ultimately rejected what I think are your beliefs. Perhaps weirdly, I kept the values, but not the simplicity of belief.

I hope you can appreciate the difference in us, and still know how much your thought and writing means to me❤️❤️

Yet another us vs them rant. I especially liked the straw man opening, followed by more logical fallacies than a Trump press briefing. This would make a great case study of logical fallacies.

You may be right. What evidence supports your claims?
