Bob, I work as a writer in financial services, and your emails are always must-reads for me. But that last one is a treasure trove I've saved. The quote about science advancing by funerals is so true. I was just reading an obscure book on advancements in deciphering the Maya script (guaranteed to cure insomnia), and the biggest hindrance to the fuller understanding we enjoy today was one man, the leading light in the field. He was brilliant and forceful and unforgiving of those who disagreed with him. And he had to die before the discipline could begin unlocking the incredible history recorded in the glyphs.

Also a quote from one Rev. Swindoll, I believe, that I had on the wall in my office for years that has been lost. To summarize, it said that we can't control a lot of things, but one thing we can always control is our attitude and how we view the situation. I always liked that, and wish I could find it again. I'm sure it's online somewhere.
